My service provider is Xplornet. I live close to a resort town and in the summer it is difficult to get online or stream anything because of "seasonal congestion". In the off season, it is still difficult to get online because the speed of download is 150-200 kb/s and when I subscribed to Xplornet, I was told it would be 5 Mb/s. And yet I received this email on January 20, 2016.Date: Wed, 20 Jan 2016 11:00:57 +0000From: info@corp.xplornet.messages5.comTo: kdejardine@hotmail.caSubject: An Important Notice About Your Internet ServiceDear Valued Customer,At Xplornet, we’re focused on providing rural Canadians with reliable high-speed Internet access, even in the most remote areas. We continually invest in our network and services to give customers outside big cities the most attractive Internet experience that technology can provide. In order to continue to provide the best possible service quality that our customers have come to expect from Xplornet, we will need to adjust monthly service fees.Beginning with your **** 2016 invoice, the service fee for your Internet package will increase by $4 per month. All other aspects of your Xplornet Internet service, such as equipment rental and overage fees, will remain the same. If your account is currently on Seasonal Service or temporarily suspended, the fee change will take effect once your account is reactivated. If you have any questions about these changes, please contact our Customer Care team at ******@***.com or 1-*-***-***-****. Thank you for your continued loyalty and we look forward to continuing to connect you to the things that matter online.Sincerely yours,Chris JohnstonExecutive Vice PresidentXplornet Communications Inc.
