I live 50 km from the nearest city. I have access to "high speed " internet, which is very slow in my opinion. I receive almost weekly advertisements from the only provider in my area, Bell, informing me of all the upgrades and specials that they are offering.......but not where I live. My bundled home phone and Internet bill just went up $9 a month to pay for infrastructure upgrades, none of which I receive. My cell phone service is also very expensive and available mainly near cities. NB is situated along the US border, and there is poor service in this area unless I use a US tower and pay roaming fees. I have a landline, but if I drop that service I can't save any money because my internet becomes unbundled and costs me more. It's a no win situation for consumers, especially in rural areas.
