I with my partner have property in the community of Britannia, on Random Island in Newfoundland and Labrador. I have for the past 5 years been postponing my taking up residence there due to the fact that access to the internet (including wifi and cellphone) is non-existent. The Government of NL had indicated two years ago its intent to extend service but so far nothing has happened. I intend to conduct a home business in my retirement years but have been stymied by this lack of service. I think it is most important in this era to have every corner of the world accessible and it is the government's responsibility to ensure this. It certainly in my opinion ensure growth and development in home-grown industries which can only have a positive impact on local economies. I look forward to the CRTC ensuring rules and regulations are untangled which in turn hopefully opens up the opportunities for access in remote communities.
