Our problem living in rural Nova Scotia is the lack of competition. In Halifax and other major centres, consumers have options for internet and phone. We are limited to Bell phone and the only "high speed" internet is also Bell. Fibre Op ends approximately 1.4 km from our house and would greatly improve our internet speed and options. We are going to drop our land line as prices have risen again ($159 @ month for phone & internet). We plan to go to cell phones but stand-alone internet is over $100 (with tax). Getting very costly to access basic services.
