I live in a rural area of BC. (Hills) We have dial-up internet. It is poor because we have very old phone lines in Hills. There is fiberoptic cable that runs in Hills; however the equipment to each home is very old, and some of the lines are so rotten that when it rains you cannot use your phone for days, sometimes weeks. We would like to be upgraded so that we can experience the digital world along with most communities of Canada. Upgrading the infrastructure in our area to fix our telephone communication and giving us high-speed internet would allow us to develop our area economically. We have been a resource-based economy for many decades (This is diminishing) and would like to attract young people and families to our area to participate in the global economy.
